- Make teenagers aware of the paradigm shift in the medicine of 21st century.
- Define the concept of clinical trial and make known its obligation before the approval of any medication.
Currently, the interest is focused on investigating the disease and thanks to medical and technological resources we can manufacture drugs that treat that same disease and/or the failures that occur in the organism.
The knowledge of the metabolic pathways and physiology allows us to develop effective drugs.
In addition, the 21st century opens a new gateway in the world of medicine: gene therapy.
Once the drug is created, we have to test it to know its effectiveness on people and to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the treatment: we have to do a clinical trial.
